Ed grew up in Long Beach, NY working from a young age in his family’s restaurants. Ed joined the Navy where he served as a search and rescue swimmer. After the Navy, Ed graduated from Texas State University. He worked for several years in the culinary industry after college in Texas, before moving back to the east coast.  After four years in the Boston area, Ed headed south to DC where joined the Salt Line team.
