Donato Alvarez comes from a family of foodies who taught him to appreciate international cuisine and travel at an early age. After college, he got his start at Vidalia, learning from acclaimed chefs Jeff Buben and RJ Cooper. His next stop and first bartending gig was at Logan Tavern, where took a great interest in house-made ingredients, wine, beer, and spirits. Donato joined the team at Sixth Engine in 2012, and proudly supports local farmers, distillers, and brewers. He is eager to showcase the best products at The Salt Line.
